Fortex is an interactive exhibition project curated to examining the society's relation to dopamine, community, and surveillance. This research is designed to imagine a future digital bubble that resembles the social spaces born from the yearning for connection and dopamine.

Section Brief.

Section A is known as The Control Room. This is in a tucked away corner of the exhibit, representing how substances are often used as a tool as well as part of a social political narration to control throughout history.

Surveillance and data stimulation of visitors were conducted in this room. Our research is presented in this space as secret files, the substance timeline, and the mock media of a imagined dystopian future in Fortex.

Half Opened Curtain

The Entrance take place at the centre of the Fortex with a half opened curtain. Inviting users to enter and sneak into the "prohibit area" that uncovers the secret behind Fortex.

Time Altered Timeline

Time Altered is the infographic timeline reflecting the findings from our research, it explores and examines the history of substances from 1600 to current time, and imagines a fictional future 100 years forward. served as an investigation board in the control room.

Zeta Times is the Newsletter Vol.84.4 special edition covers almost dystopian features regarding events and entertainment in Fortex.

These Post Cards were physical artifacts visitors can take home, it is also distributed prior to the events as promotion material.

User Report

Fortex Operators observes and records the vitals of each user through the data detected and transmitted to the user report, For this exhibit, I created a mock up of these user reports with montion graphics.

Surveillance Screen

Each action is carefully surveillances by the camera we planted throughout the exhibition. At these surveillance screen visit are able to discover they are being watched and analyzed by Fortex this whole time. Tell your friends to say hi to the camera.

Section Brief.

Section B is known as Plantatia. Located at the right side of the exhibit, representing the recreational nature of substances throughout history. reflecting the hippie era and usage of

substances as a source of inspiration in arts and music. Two users and collaborate in this interactive station to paint a garden to live instantly through simple pen strokes.

The Canvas

Plantatia is consists on two main component the Garden and the Seed station, users make their creation at the seed station, the Garden would be instantly born from the seeds of imagination

Two users plants the seeds by creates strokes on the canvases, as they see their garden instantly born from their imagination

A camera is planted in this station that you would soon discover its function once you enter the control room

A close range projector that projects the garden on the Canvas

Terrain (a)

Fortex imitates nature for the users to feel grounded, patches of turfs are cut out distributed in Fortex's floor and wall, to imitate a sense of stability

Patches and pockets of iridescent reflective material are distributed in the space of Fortex to create a sense of euphoria and peace.

The Bubble

The therapy bubble is created with floating translucent materia shape with the reflections of the visitors projected on it. Symbolizing the visitor's sense of self.

A close range projector that projects maps the reflection of the visitor on the bubble.

Camera (b)

A hidden camera use to track the visitor image and movement for it to be projected on the bubbles

Served as a checkpoint indicating that the visitor can stand in front of it as well as a boundary showing this is as close as you can get to the bubble

Barn Doors Light

The barn door light points directly towards the reflective lake material, this creates a light that illuminates the room with iridescent diffractions that resembles the northern light.
